One of the first flash websites I ever designed. I had to do it over 3 times to get it right. The client loved it the first time but I had to make it perfect.
Color is a big thing in my work. I took the colors off the existing logo and really saturated them out. As you interact with the website you’ll notice that the logo breaks apart in a different way each time.

This is a final render of a collection of 3D cultural icons I’m working on for istock.com. The idea is to produce a collection of elements that could work well for a publications art director. Lot’s of white space for text with just a hint of color, almost hand-tinted.

! was asked to do this design over the weekend. Used some stock photography, that I shot, and some Photoshop™ retouching to get the feel of film speeding through the camera.
This ad ran as the campaign for the show The Treatment for over 2 years. Produced for a radio show where, Elvis Mitchell the host, interviews filmakers that work both in front and behind the camera.

I created all the elements of this piece, the olympic ribbon was hand-made in Illustrator™ and the smart car had some major retouching.
This envelope was converted [printed + folded from scratch] so I could run my layout right up to the edges. The background wraps around the car like a custom photography stage, giving the car a grounding and a color splash of many hues.

This was a quick turn-a-round project for KCRW to promote their Lexus giveaway sweepstakes.
I retouched the photograph to give some extra kick , by increasing the contrast and playing with the color. I built the road sign in my favorite 3D application. and fused it all in Photoshop™.

This start-up company, a developer of sports accessories, with big ideas and a tiny budget was an interesting challenge.
The brief consisted of discussing the Nike™ logo, and trying to achieve the same active, energetic and dynamic. Part of my contribution was to guide the ceo through his many ideas down to the final, chosen above.

An insert for a radio station whose collection of music and archives had outgrown their space. This was a call to subscribers to give a little more to save the collection.
Decided to allow the layout dictate the message, using the copy, which was a little verbose to act as a vehicle to describe the collection in the shelves. Also added an old reel to reel to really kick the nostalgia into gear.

This is one of many logos I created for a really good South African friend of mine, Neel Muller. For a while there we were going to rule the design/advertising world. Oh well.
The brief was to create an alluring/edgy design, using a stylized version of the furry mammals that call a hole in the african soil their home. I used the theme of the hole to dominate. For the creature I used a lot looser interpretation. Here is what they really look like!

This is a series of 4 targets + arrows icon/illustration I’m doing for
istock.com.
I concept out the piece on a sketchpad, then I use Adobe Illustrator™ to draw the outline of the elements. From there the ‘elements’ are imported into Maxon Cinema 4D™, modeled then rendered. The rendering then goes back to Illustrator for tracing and color
The result looks very convincing as a 3D rendering but is in fact vector. The look is stylized and iconic. Great for raw editorial and esoteric concept layouts.
